Mr. Purushottam Pawar born on 26th October 1956 and has spent his early childhood in Vasai, Mumbai. He studied B.A. LLB from Mumbai University.
His father Bapusaheb Pawar - Patil was a Freedom fighter and worked with Gandhiji and Vinobaa Bhaveji. “Purushottam” this name is given to him by Aachary Vinobaa Bhave.
He is a Builder and Jeweller by profession. He hails from Vasai’s established business family, the renowned "Patil & Pawar Group of companies", having multiple businesses like inter state onion dealing, garments, construction and Jewellery. He is Founder and President of Vasai Taluka Jewellers Association.
He is a Table Tennis player of Mumbai University and is founder president of Vasai Taluka Table Tennis Association.
He founded the first Senior Citizens Club at the age of 36 and is now leading the federation of 23 Sr. Ctzn. clubs in Vasai.
He is Trustee of Swami Shraddhanand Hospital, at village Nirmal, Vasai, near Mumbai, where a modern eye hospital is run and has one special unit for terminally ill patients. Here the patients are admitted ONLY to ease their last days of life peacefully.
His family trust “Bapusaheb Patil-Pawar Charitable Trust” provides “FREE SICK BED SERVICES”. where walkers, wheel-chair, hospital bed, Air Bed, suction machine, Oxygen machine and many such medical equipment are given free for use. NO RENT or CHARGES are taken. Equipment is given free to all on USE and RETURN BASIS.

Upon his father's death, realising the importance of organ donation and a need for time , he gave up All his business activities in a single day. Now since last decade he is navigating himself 100% for the noble cause of Organ Donation.
He is Founder of “The Federation of Organ & Body Donation”. This federation is an association of Social activists and NGOs who were working scatteredly then with endless hurdles. The Federation, his brain child, is a pioneering organization for organ donation activity in Maharashtra.
Along with many innovative activities, Federation had organised PadYaatras from Nashik to Nagpur, Mumbai to Goa , Aurangabad to Tuljapur and Nashik to Belgaum. For Organ Donation awareness in April 2018, under his leadership along with 10 PadYatri he walked 850 Kms for 52 days from KEM Hospital Mumbai to Goa.
