My mother was born and broughtup in Mumbai, she had a very strong connect with her Village in the Konkan region of Maharashtra and she loved to travel. She had completed her education and chose the Education field. She helped me on my own feet with her strong characteristics and sometimes strong hand too.
She was a teacher in a Primary school and has been able to imbibe values and provide basic building blocks of education to scores of students in her career as a teacher. She is fondly remembered in many student forums and school Alumini groups as "Pai Teacher"
She worked with one school and retired from there itself, she never moved across institutions and was a part of the Senior teachers in her school.
Post her retirement too she continued her passion for Teaching, Reading and Social Service. She was an active member in many local groups that would help other older people in the locality. She ensure that she kept herself occupied with activites that helped other as well.
She overcame Covid and 2 major medical/ surgical interventions and was leading an active lifestyle with her Yoga and walking habits. She kept in touch with a large number of her old friends while also making many new friends and connections. She ensured that she spoke with a lot of people regularly some on a Weekly or Monthly basis and provided them a strong supporting advice to live a better life.
In her own way she has touched multiple lives throughout her teaching career and also with her post retirement activities.
She had tremendous will power which gave her strength to do all the things that she chose. She was however called too soon.
As per her wish, we have donated her body to Nair Hospital Medical College, Mumbai. It was a a decision that was her way to keep giving back to the students, she will continue to be a teacher in her afterlife too.
She will always be missed by me, my sister and Father.
We also want to thank Aptekaka of v4rgans foundation and their volunteers, for their patience & making this entire process as smooth as was possible. We wish them all the success in their Holy Mission.
We also urge others to Donate likewise and give back to the society at large and be remembered long after you have left this world.
