Vijayalakshmi Bangera
An Icon of Inspiration.
Vijaya Lakhmi , a retired English teacher in Malad Junior college has a career that spanned for years. A profession to mirror her exemplary traits as a teacher .
The true hallmarks of a teacher Compassion, Dedication, Humility and Humanity and lofty principles and high sense of discipline.
Born in Bangalore with a suitable educational qualification after marriage shifted to Mumbai. At domestic front she was entangled with unpleasant experiences. A drunkard as her life partner , a mentally retarded daughter and unending financial crisis made her to evolve herself as a strong and spirited woman, accepting the challenges as a divine design to test her power of endurance and empathy. For her life a combination of compliments, complaints, delights denials, wonders vulnerabilities. For such a life with full veneration she made an onward march with amazing grit and gratitude.
Her wand of influence with a high sense of positivity has touched many including her elder daughter in a very ennobling way , driving them to adopt a healthy positive outlook.
She is a witty wizard with amazing sense of humour that reflects in her loud laughter, with a sparkle that brings her innocent admiration. Brilliant and intellectual in her conversation and always giving an attentive hearing always comes out with simple and convincing suggestions and conclusions to many issues. At least a hundred people in her daily contact.
A great observer with keen interest in social, political or general issues.
She is a Friend Guide and Philosopher to many who has scattered seeds of love , generosity, serene sunshine on her journey spreading enriching human values.
She is a firm believer in
“ it is in loving and being loved
The life is lived.
It is in giving and not in getting
The heart is blest”
With such faith she used to say
“ let medical students learn from my body,
Needy people get organs”
Her eye donation will bring a glowing vision to one whose world is filled with utter darkness.
I wish to sum up by this heartfelt tribute
“ Dignity in death shall not take the dearest farther than God and God is very close to us”
Bidding Farewell to such a humane human is like a prelude to say Happy Hallo next day .
